We are still in the waiting for adoption. At times, it feels challenging, and at times it is what it is. This month, I experienced a moment of thankfulness for the year we have been in waiting. I have been privileged to be waiting this past year. I know the Lord has taught me many valuable lessons, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to visit Zambia, many family vacations, a 25 yr. anniversary vow renewal celebration. We’ve worked on house projects. I’ve tried subbing and tutoring. We’ve had lots of people over for fellowship.
This month, we changed our eating habits with an app called Yuka. We also created a workout room, and I’m pleased to say I have lost a few pounds.
I also worked in VBS as a table time teacher. We had a big fellowship dinner with a few families and collaborated with our dear friends and mentors. I also received free highlights and a haircut because I helped a girl who was attending a job interview. We watched our friend’s dog, Pippa, who became a sweet member of our pack! We picked up a beautiful Pottery Barn couch with an extra set of slipcovers, as well as a beautiful square coffee table. Frank and I hung curtains, making our living room feel much more cohesive. We added some window film that adds color and privacy to both the fitness room and the upper windows in our living room. My James Bible study group had a ladies’ fellowship breakfast one morning. I made 50 muffins (blueberry streusel and lemon poppyseed) for a bridal shower. We went to Bikes & BBQ at our church. Also, we switched internet providers (cheaper and faster internet). I had tea with a sweet friend and shared our infertility journeys. I also helped my friend make burritos for the men’s breakfast. I did lots of shopping to prepare for teaching (mostly thrifted clothing, some decor), and bought some books. We went to a movie as a family, “Mission Impossible-Final Reckoning.” I also finished most of the requirements for teaching kindergarten (new teacher orientation starts in July). I pulled lots of weeds and sold or organized some items. We had a family dinner for Luke, who is turning 40, at Biaggi’s (an Italian restaurant).
We also updated our profile and shared brochures at the local hospital.
We continue to trust the Lord in all things and move forward one step at a time.
With love,
Rebecca and Frank
